Mary E. Fortuna

Mary Fortuna, 95, of Chetek, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 18, 2014.  Mary was born on August 14, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Stanley and Katherine Gibula.

Mary was a devoted and loving mother.  She was a hard working person, she loved to share her past memories with her family, loved crocheting and cooking and loved visits from her family and friends and had an unending patience.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Mary leaves to celebrate her memory, her son, Stanley of Chetek, sister-in-law, Irene Boland, Milwaukee, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  She will rejoin her family that precede her in death, her parents, Stanley and Katherine Fortuna and her brother Steven Gibula.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Jim Bartelme celebrating.  Mary’s family will be greeting visitors at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek on Tuesday from 4:30 – 6:30 and again at the church one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday.

Mary will be laid to rest at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.  The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship at the church following the cemetery service.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
