Mary Eva Southworth, 85 of Bloomer (formerly of Chetek) passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. She was born October 10, 1928 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin the daughter of Cecilia (Joss) and Alfred Jackson.
Mary Eva was raised in Chetek, WI, married and then moved to Bloomer. Her time was spent raising four children and building lifelong friendships. In her later years, she spent her summers in Chippewa Falls and wintered in Florida. Her interests and pleasures were the study and creation of art, traveling and dining with friends. To all who knew her, she will be remembered as a kind and giving person. What she held most precious were her friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Ted (Mickey) of Chetek, Greg (Cindy) of Bloomer, Marie (Henry Dana) Southworth of Mooresville, North Carolina and Suzanne (Jim) Skuban of Bloomer. Proud grandmother of Sara (Bill) Tealey, Charley Southworth, Grant (Liz) Southworth, Gretchen (Ricky) Paape, Mia (Shad) Jenneman, Lena (Tony) Jenneman, Nora (Ryan) Jenneman, Ashley Skuban and Ben Skuban. Also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, one sister, Hazel Bates of Chetek, other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11 A.M. with Father Jim Bartelme officiating. Family and friends may gather for a visitation at Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2014 and also one hour prior to Mass on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Grant Southworth, Charley Southworth, Ricky Paape, Bill Tealy, Ryan Seibold and Bill Bates. Interment will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery in the spring.
