Muriel Juliet (Swanson) Linquist

Muriel Juliet Linquist, 79 of Chetek, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health Care System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Muriel was born on September 12, 1933 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin the daughter of Norma (Erickson) and Norman Swanson.

Muriel was a member of the Red Hats Society, Sons of Norway, and Scrap Booking Club, a lifelong member of Chetek Lutheran Church, the ladies groups at church, and a member of the has-beens club.  She also loved to trace genealogy, which she has traced all the way back to the year 1400 in Norway.  Collecting Shirley Temple dolls was a favorite hobby of hers and they date all the way back to 1934.

Muriel leaves to celebrate her memory: children: Kim Belanger, Knoxville, TN; Greg Belanger, Rice Lake, WI; Geoff (Kelly) Belanger, Jacksonville, FL; Mark Linquist, Chetek, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, relatives, Betty Bell, Bob Parks, Harry Hagen, Mike Hagen, Donna (Jim) Lembom, June Edson and other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Norman Swanson and her husband, Ralph Linquist.

The funeral service for Muriel will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Chetek Lutheran Church.  Pastor Guy Redfield will officiate.  Muriel’s family will be greeting visitors at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek on Tuesday, February 19 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and then again at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.  She will be laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery in Chetek in the spring.  The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship at the church following the service.
