Myrtle Alvina (Booker) (Kaylor) Mcadow

March 9, 1919 — August 23, 2013

Myrtle Alvina (Kaylor) McAdow, 94, of Eau Claire and formerly of Chetek, passed away at her home in Eau Claire on Friday, August 23, 2013 with her loving family at her side.  Myrtle was born on March 9, 1919 in Superior, Wisconsin the daughter of Sam and Agnes Booker.

Myrtle had a strong faith in God and spent time every day with her Bible and ‘spyglass’ reading God’s Word.  She was an active member in the Chetek United Methodist Church where she was a part of the church choir and woman’s circle.  She was also a part of the Women’s After Five Club where she would open up her home to the many missionaries over the years that would come and speak at the groups monthly meetings.

Myrtle liked to be called Grandma and gave the best bear hugs.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her but we can take comfort in the fact that she is at home with Jesus.

Myrtle leaves to celebrate her memory: children, Beverly Seyler (Spencer), Bayport, MN; Barbara Cook, Eau Claire, WI; and Frank Kaylor (Lisa), Pewaukee, WI; stepchildren, Jerry (Carol) McAdow and Dave (Vera) McAdow, grandchildren: Robin (Gary), Debbie, Jackie, Krista (Bill), Tami, Kim, Raymond (Spring), Benji, RaDonna, Chad (April) and Kelly, 7 step grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 20 step great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and 6 step great great grandchildren, brother, Duane (June) Booker, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Sam and Agnes Booker, 1 st husband, Raymond Kaylor, 2 nd husband, Emit McAdow, daughter, Nancy Morris, siblings, Emily, Vivian, Vernon and Raymond, son-in-law, Tom Cook and stepson, Jim McAdow.

The funeral service for Myrtle will be held at the Chetek United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Carrie Hamm officiating.  The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, August 28 from 4-7 P.M. at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek and then again on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Myrtle will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek following the funeral service.  Myrtle’s family wishes to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship back at the church following the cemetery service.  Pallbearers will be Raymond Parr, Benji Parr, Alex Parr, Bill Kingore, Jason Moser and Justin Kelnhofer.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
