Orabella Marjorie (Johnson) Swanson

Orabelle Marjorie Swanson, 99, of Chetek, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home, in Chetek, Wisconsin.  Orabelle was born on February 1, 1914 in Lake Forest, Illinois the daughter of Adolf and Frieda (Semph) Johnson.

Orabelle and Bert married in 1935 in Lodi, Wisconsin.  She worked in food service as a cook in the Wisconsin Rapids School Systems.   After 70 years of marriage, Bert passed away in 2005. They lived in Sheboygan for 43 years, and Wisconsin Rapids.  After retirement,  Orabelle and Bert moved to River Falls and Chetek where they remained until their passing.  They also spent many years wintering in Florida and Arizona.  Orabelle enjoyed crocheting and provided many Afghans for families and friends throughout the years.  She was extremely fond of having children visit with her and cherished those moments.

Orabelle leaves special memories to her Daughter;  Simone (Jake) Jacobs of Chetek, Wisconsin and Tavares, Florida.; Two Grandsons, Burt (Staci) Jacobs of Greenacres, Washington and Hans Jacobs of Chetek, Wisconsin.  Orabelle was the proud Great-Grandmother of Austin, Collin, Emma, Brett Jacobs; and one Nephew Carl (Marge) Johnson of Ada, Wisconsin.  Also survived by other Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends.   She is preceded in death by her Parents Adolf and Frieda Johnson, Husband Bert Swanson, Brother Norman Johnson, and Nephew Roger Johnson.

A Celebration of Life for Orabelle will be held at a later date in Chetek, Wisconsin, followed by interment alongside her Husband Bert at the Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
