Patricia Ann (O'Brien) Nyberg

Patricia (Pat) Ann (O’Brien) Nyberg, age 78 of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away August 30, 2018 with loving family members by her side. She was born on July 4, 1940 in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Gladys (Batchelder) and Paul Francis O'Brien. Patricia married at the age of 20 on April 23, 1960 in Iowa to John Ray Nyberg and remained married nearly 58 years.

She was an extremely loving mother of four children who provided her with eleven grandchildren! Patricia and John moved to Whittier, CA in 1968. Patricia worked for the Whittier School District, Pic N Save, and American Savings Bank where she retired due to health reasons. In retirement, she loved to spoil her children and grandchildren. Additionally, she loved to host holiday parties with her collection of red ruby dishes. Some of her other hobbies included sewing, baking, collecting dolls and clowns, and shopping on the internet. In 2005, Pat and Jack returned to their Wisconsin roots and enjoyed life in their house on Lake Chetek. She loved her lakeside life where she made many friends at the VFW.

Patricia leaves to celebrate her memory: children, Clifford Ray Nyberg, Janine Kay (Tom) Ellison, Connie Jean Coger and Kurt Paul Nyberg, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, her sister, Judy Stottle, her brother, Jim (Alice) O’Brien and other loving family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Paul O’Brien, husband, John “Jack” Nyberg in April of this year, grandson, John Thomas Ellison and grandson, Matthew Thomas Nyberg.

The funeral service will be held at the Chetek Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.  Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M.  Patricia will be laid to rest alongside her husband John “Jack” at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.   Pallbearers were Kurt Nyberg, Matthew Ellison, Clifford Nyberg and Michael Ellison.

The Celebration of Life will continue at the Chetek VFW with a dinner beginning at 4:00 P.M.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
