Peggy Ann (Strand) Fransen

August 3, 1936 — June 26, 2012

Peggy Ann Fransen, 75, of Chetek, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. She was born in Rural Cameron on August 3, 1936, the daughter of Roy and Eva (Hollister) Strand.
Peggy married her first husband, Ronald Rathke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cameron, WI. She married her second husband, Donald Fransen Sr. and lived in Illinois for 15 years before moving to Chetek. Peggy worked at the Convenience Store in Chetek for 25 years.
Peggy leaves to celebrate her memory, her son, James (Susan) Rathke of Cameron, WI; granddaughter, Kathleen Kreier of Amery, WI; great granddaughter, Shelby Hegna of Eau Claire, WI; nephews, Doug (Ann) Novak of Ladysmith, WI and Brad (Jackie) Novak of Cumberland, WI; niece, Jeanne (Leonard) Hess of Ladysmith, WI; cousins, Carol Mae (Arnold “Skip”) Widdes of Rice Lake, WI and Jack (Sheila) Running of Eau Claire, WI; many other loving family and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Fransen Jr.; sisters, Betty Novak and Dorothy Aspenes.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek, WI, with Brad Novak officiating. Peggy’s family will greet visitors from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Peggy will be laid to rest next to her son, Donald Fransen Jr. at Faaberg Cemetery in Stanley Township, Barron County.
