Raymond Henry Langman

July 16, 1926 — July 31, 2014

Raymond H. Langman, 88 of Chetek, WI passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.  Raymond was born July 16, 1926 in Guttenburg, Iowa the son of Louise (Weideman) and William Langman.

Raymond was born and raised on the family farm in Guttenberg, Iowa.  His family moved to Chetek when his brothers and sisters were grown and Raymond worked the farm with his parents.  Raymond married Anna Helen Sykora January 13, 1948.  Together they lived at the family farm house.  Raymond worked outside the farm by hauling milk and Anna worked by his side with farm chores and raising a family.  When his sons were adults, Raymond and Anna worked with Steve, Fred and Tom on the farm and grew the farm to what was Langman Farms.  During this time, he also was elected as a Supervisor on the Chetek Township Board and worked with the township on jobs as well.  He never took much time off of work and taught his children the rewards of your labor.

Raymond leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Anna Helen (Sykora) Langman, 3 sons: Steve (Dawn) Langman, Fred (Kathy) Langman, Tom (Debra) Langman, 2 daughters: Jane Langman and Joanne Austin, 16 Grandchildren, Kristen Langman, Scott (Christy) Langman, Angie (Dwayne) May, Jennifer (Kevin) Reese, Michelle (Jamie) Slack, Andrew Langman, Matthew Langman, Aimee Langman, Lorree (Steve Christianson) Langman, Loni (Mesh) Yego, Shane Austin, 4 Step-grandchildren, Jeremy Switzer, Josh (Marybeth) Tomsovic, Laura Tomsovic, 2 Honorary Great Grandchilden, Love and Jonathan Christianson, 5 Great-grandchildren, Mason and Brady Langman, Alexus Yego, Parker Slack, Elsie Reese and 4 Step-great grandchildren, Carson and Tia Switzer, Alexis and Nolan Tomsovic and Ray's brother Lloyd "Shorty" (Jackie) Langman.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters; Clarence Langman, Irene  Benson, Arthur Langman, Mildred Knutsvig, Bernice Nelson, Florence Langman, Adeline Langman and Leroy Langman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek with Father Gerard Willger officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 4-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the most Holy Rosary being said at 7:00 P.M.  Raymond’s family will greet guests at the church on Monday one hour prior to the Mass.  Burial will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery following the service.  Please view and sign the online guestbook at www.burnhamours.com.  In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.
