Raymond George Scott was born in Racine, WI to Mary (Cipov) and Ora Delbert Scott on October 12, 1937 and died August 5th, 2018 in Chetek.
Ray grew up and resided in the Town of Rusk for most of his life. He graduated from Chetek High School in 1955 and served four years in the United States Air Force. His tours of duty included Northern Italy, Libya and Osceola, Wisconsin. He is a life member of the VFW and a charter member of the Chetek, 10331 VFW Post established in 1973. After service, he returned to Rusk County and worked as a trucker for many years supporting road crews, making long haul deliveries to the east and west coasts and eventually hauling gravel and roll-offs locally. He was supportive of the Town of Rusk, serving on the board and working on town projects. Ray was an avid fisherman and hunter. In later years he enjoyed gardening and driving his ATV through the woods and fields.
He is survived by his son Roger (Georgia) of Hudson, daughter Elizabeth (John Kohel Jr) of Altoona, grandchildren Mallory and Adrian Scott and John Kohel III. He is also survived by his brothers Don of Chetek, Dennis (Sue) Madejski of Chetek, sisters Jane (John) Effertz of Bruce, Carol of Ladysmith, Nancy Madejski of Orlando, FL and Sandra (George) Tant of Atlanta, GA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob Scott, sister, Yvonne (Bonnie) Marie Knowlton-Knaak, sister-in-law Charlotte Scott, niece Michelle Scott and nephew Bob Knowlton.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 11th, 11:00 am at Twin Lakes Cemetery, Sampson Township, Chippewa County Wisconsin. A luncheon will follow the service.
Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
