Richard Glenn Strickland

Richard Glenn Strickland, age 90, passed away on August 22, 2023, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Chetek, Wisconsin.

Richard was born to Lynn & Leola (Carruth) Strickland on March 18, 1933, in Cumberland, Wisconsin.

Richard graduated from Shell Lake Highschool in 1950. After graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force where he met and married Anita M. Lahde of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, on May 10, 1956. After retiring from the military in 1973, he worked at various jobs until buying and operating Ricks Sport Shop in Amery where he retired and moved to Chetek in 1989.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn & Leola Strickland, wife, Anita Strickland, and brothers, Jerry & Jack Strickland.

Richard is survived by, his children, Stephen Strickland of Chetek, WI, David Strickland of Milwaukee, WI, and Ruth Eastham of New Auburn, WI, grandchildren, Veronica Strickland, Aileen Strickland-McGee, Ben Strickland, Shay Eastham, and Cheyenne Eastham, 9 great-grandchildren, and brother, Lynn "Gene" Strickland, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek, Wisconsin, on Thursday, August 31, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and go until the time of the service. After the service, the family invites those attending for lunch in the church's fellowship hall.

Richard will be interred at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery following lunch.
