Robert E. Richards

Robert E. Richards, 75, of Chetek, passed away in his home on Friday, October 02, 2015 with his loving family at his side.  Bob was born on March 1, 1940 in Chicago, IL the son of Mary (Davern) and Eugene Richards.

Bob attended St. Joseph College in Rensalan, IN and Wright College in Chicago, IL.  He began his career after college at Western Electric in Chicago and there he met his first wife Sharon, now deceased and to that union two sons were born.

Bob was drafted into the United States Army as a married man in 1963 and served his country until being honorably discharged in 1965.  He continued his working career at Western Electric until the plant closing in 1983.

In 1982 he married his current wife Adeline and they moved to Rice Lake in 1998.  They moved to Chetek in 1999 where he became everyone’s favorite at the local grocery store.  Bob lived the rest of his life doing his very best to ensure that everyone in his life was happy and well taken care of.

He is survived by his wife, Adeline, sister, Mary Pat, brother, William, sons, Scott (Kim), Bill (Joanne), step children, Tina (Matt), Carol (Larry), David (Keri), special granddaughters, Emily, Sarah and Kelly, along with ten other grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Eugene Richards.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek.  Bob’s family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Military Honors will be rendered following the service.  The family invites their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship in the church following the Military Honors.
