Robert Louis Ruppel

Robert “Bob” L. Ruppel, age 65, of Chetek WI, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St Mary’s hospital in Rochester MN.

He was born March 17, 1948 to Glen & Margaret (Sturgeon) Ruppel. He graduated from Chetek High School in 1966. He married Nancy Nelson on April 12, 1969, and together had two children, Eric & Heidi. Robert worked for J&D Transport as a truck driver up until August of 2013. Prior to J&D Transport, Robert had worked as an over the road semi driver.

Robert loved being on the road in his semi listening to Willie Nelson. He loved animals…especially cats. He enjoyed watching Nascar, The Three Stooges, and the movie Fast & Furious. He also loved watching his son Eric race his off road truck when he was in Crandon WI. He spent a lot of time on the road and has made many friends on his routes. His sense of humor is something he will always be remembered for. Even when he was ill he never lost his ability to make people laugh, including the nurses and the doctors attending to him.

Robert is survived by his ex-wife Nancy Erwin, son Eric (Deanne), daughter Heidi (Doug Prill), sister Jean (Frank) Reith, nephews Kurt (Crystal) Reith and Paul (Magdalena ) Reith. He is preceded in death by his parents Glen & Margaret Ruppel.
