Rogers Thomas Janota, 82, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Rogers was born on June 15, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Emilie (Vana) and Joseph Janota.
Rogers graduated from Chetek High School and on October 3, 1953 he married Ardith Cole. They worked together on their farm in rural New Auburn until they retired. Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, fishing, hunting and trips to Las Vegas. He was always on the go and loved to visit with family and friends. He later married Irene Miles on September 6, 2000.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek. The family will greet visitors at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek on Friday from 4-7 PM and again at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the funeral. Rogers will be laid to rest at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
Rogers leaves to celebrate his memory, wife, Irene, children; Jim (Cindy) Janota, Joe Janota, Jean (Smokey) Eastman, Julie (Al) Amundson, stepchildren; Lorrie (Bob) Berg, Cathee (Jim) Slade, Jill Wolf, Jack Davis, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 19 step great grandchildren, sister, Darlene (Donnie) Zwiefelhofer, brother, Donald (Marjorie) Janota, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilie (Vana) and Joseph “Dick” Janota and his first wife Ardith (Cole).
