Ronald B. Nelson, age 72, died at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, WI on August 18, 2012 at 11 p.m. Ronald was born November 10, 1939 in Menomonie, WI the son of Orville and Alice (Kreutzer) Nelson.
Ron “Doc” and his wife, Evelyn (Cherrier), were raised in Menomonie, WI and later moved to Minnesota to raise their family.  They returned to their roots in Chetek, WI for their retirement years.
Ron enjoyed the outdoors and spent many happy years living on the water, enjoying fishing at his leisure, and welcoming loved ones into his home.  He relished good food, good stories, and many jokes with family, friends, and neighbors. He was very special to his loved ones with his positive attitude and contagious sense of humor.  He had a deep appreciation for his family and their accomplishments; he was a wonderful husband, a leader for his children, and a loving grandfather.
Ron loved his family dearly and leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife, Evelyn; children, Thomas (Renae), Jane (Mike) Garcia, Michael (Leah), and Linda (Steve Jaeger); grandsons, Zachary and Jacob Nelson, and Tom Garcia; step-granddaughters, Jessica Oberlander and Amanda (John) Goff; step-great granddaughters, Emma and Addison Goff; sister-in-law, Patricia Nelson, and brothers, Wayne (Sharon) Nelson, John (Gloria) Nelson, Bob (Robin) Nelson; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Orville Nelson and his brother, Gareth Nelson.  He will be greatly missed by his family.
Private family services will be held. The Burnham Ours Funeral home in Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
