Ruth P. Dobrowolski, 94 of Chetek passed away Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home. She was born April 30, 1921 in Arkansaw, Wisconsin.
Ruth was married to Archie Gehler, having 2 children, Dennis and Robin. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in Sand Creek until his death in 1958. Ruth married her second husband Ed Dobrowolski in 1963, and together having one son, Alan. Ruth and Ed owned and operated Ed’s Refrigeration on Knapp Street for many years until Ed’s passing in 2005. She was a volunteer at the “Garage” often where she gave her time and served many meals there. Ruth was an active member of Chetek Lutheran Church for many years also.
Ruth is survived by her children; Dennis (Judy) Gehler of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Robin (Dale) Langman of New Boston, MO; Alan (Shelly) Dobrowolski of Chetek, WI; 7 grandchildren, Amber Gehler, April Gehler, Ryan Langman, Aaron Langman, Katie Thiry, Chad Dobrowolski, Kylee Dobrowolski , 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one sister Nelle Posner of Arizona and one brother Richard (Joann) Van Norman of Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Archie Gehler, Edward Dobrowolski; 2 brothers & 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. February 27, 2016 at Chetek Lutheran Church with Pastor Guy Redfield officiating. Visitation for Ruth will be from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday February 26, 2016 at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek and again from 10:00 A.M. until the time of funeral service at Church on Saturday. She will be laid next to her first husband Archie Gehler at Our Saviors Cemetery in Sand Creek, Wisconsin Friday May 20 at 1:30 P.M.
