Shirley Mae Madlung, 84 passed away at Knapp Haven Nursing Home Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was born December 15, 1930 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Idabell (O’connel) and Richard Armbruster.
Shirley met the love of her life Ron while tagging along with a cousin for the night on the town. She knew immediately he was “the one”. Shirley moved to Chetek in 2013. She enjoyed fishing, cribbage and especially playing sheepshead. While in Chetek for a relatively short time, she found everyone so helpful. Shirley was a very feisty lady and managed to survive cancer for five years before finally succumbing after an intense 2 week battle.
Shirley is survived by her children; Ron (Julie) Madlung of Elm Grove, WI, Judy (Jeff) Jankowski of Kissimmee, FL, Sharon (Roger) Wilson of Chetek, Grandchildren; Jessica (Rick) Jankowski, Meredith (Frank) Wilson, Marshall (Karlie) Wilson and James Wilson. Fond sister of Dick (Shirley) Armbruster, John (Evie) Armbruster, Carol (Bob) Dombrowski, Joe (Marlene) Armbruster.
