Shirley Ellen Wiltgen, 86, Chetek, passed away on January 4, 2012 at the Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek with her loving family at her side. She was born January 17, 1925 in Rice Lake, the daughter of Samuel and Clara (Nielsen) Boysen.
Shirley graduated from Chetek High School in 1942. She married James C. Wiltgen Feb. 17, 1945 at Chetek Lutheran Church. In 1960 she and her family moved to Racine, WI where she worked in retail sales and was an active member of Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church. In 1981 she and Jim returned to Chetek to reside.
Her lifetime interest included sewing, knitting sweaters for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as for the church raffles, square dancing, card-club, bingo, and arts and crafts, and always loved meeting new people.
A special thank you from the family goes out to the staff at Knapp Haven Nursing Home for the loving and caring attention given to Shirley during the six years she lived there. Shirley was a member of the Chetek Lutheran Church.
Shirley leaves to celebrate her memory: her children; Judy (Willie) Walker, Dann Wiltgen, Kathy (Tom) Haynes, Kim Wiltgen; grandchildren; Keven (Carol) Becklin, Tamie Becklin, Amanda (Bud) Remer, Kyle, Nick and Joel Wiltgen, Heidi (Dan) Drebenstedt, Tarah Haynes; great grandchildren; Alec, Brandon, Dominick, Cole, Alexandra, Damon, Mason, Keyara, Kylie, Aliyah, Caitlyn, Joshua, Malakii; her special friends at the Knapp Haven Nursing Home, and her many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara (Nielsen) and Sam Boysen, husband, James Wiltgen and her brother J. Peder Boysen.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Chetek Lutheran Church at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Guy Redfield will officiate. The family will greet visitors at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. The family wishes to invite their guests to join them for fellowship and lunch following the service.
