Stanley J. Fortuna

Stanley J. Fortuna, 76 of Chetek passed away July 3, 2018 at his residence.  He was born September 6, 1941 in Rice Lake, son of Marian "Mary" (Gibula) and Joseph Fortuna.

Stanley was an only child, raised on a farm north of Chetek.  He loved playing tug-o-war with anyone who challenged him. Meals were his favorite time of the day, and he would “light up” when it included pie and cool whip.

Stanley is survived by many cousins, farm neighbors and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Bala Policetty officiating.  Family and friends may gather for a visitation one hour prior to the Mass.  Stanley will be laid to rest beside his mother, at St. Boniface Cemetery following the Mass.

Stanley was always Mary’s boy to love, she protected and guarded over him as long as God allowed.  He is now embraced in her loving arms.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the staff of Home Sweet Home for their years of attentive care for Stanley.  Without you, Stanley would not have been able to stay in his home as his Mother wished until he joined her in heaven. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or your favorite charity preferred.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
