Stephen Lee Davis, 40, of Chetek, passed away on November 3, 2012 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Stephen was born on November 19, 1971 in Bloomer, Wisconsin the son of Bill and Ginny (Deutsch) Davis. Stephen attended the Chetek area schools and graduated from Chetek High School in 1990.
In his school years he played football, basketball, baseball and later softball. After High School, Stephen attended the University of Wisconsin Superior where he was a member of the University baseball team. He then attended WITC in Rice Lake and earned his degree in Machine Tooling. He also held a certificate in taxidermy. He married Stephanie Hanson on December 29, 1999 and to this marriage 4 wonderful children were loved and raised.
Stephen was a machinist at Rice Lake Weighing from many years and he was currently a valued employee and lead man at the Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Chetek. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and trapping with his family and friends. He was a skilled carpenter and taxidermist and was always willing to help out his friends and family at anytime. He was a loving, husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed.
Stephen leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Stephanie, children, Bronson, Brookelle, Bryant, step daughter, Brynn, parents, Bill and Ginny Davis, sister, B.J. Davis (Lauren Fehr), niece, Avery, nephew, Sulley, grandmother, Arlys Deutsch, mother & father-in-law, Lori & Dan Hanson, brother –in-law, Jason (Jacklyn) Hanson, nieces, Abbie & Greta, nephews, Cade, Luke & Dane, many aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert & Evelyn Davis and Kenneth Deutsch.
The funeral service for Stephen will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at the Chetek Lutheran Church. Pastor Heather Brewer will officiate and the music will be provided by Andrea North and Julie Odil.
Stephen’s family will be greeting visitors at Chetek Lutheran Church on Friday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and then again on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service. The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship in the church basement following the service. Casket Bearers will be Eric Davis, John Jensen, Jason Hanson, Tony Davis, Jacob Fosvedt, Dustin Thompson, David Currans and Carlos De La Cruz.
