Steven John Liker, 75, of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with his loving family at his side.
Steve (Stipo) was born July 4, 1935 in Pakrac, Croatia to Ivan and Margaret Liker. He grew up in the small village of Spanovica with his brothers and sisters. During World War II, Steve and his family escaped to Austria and were placed in a refugee camp in Spittal
Through Catholic Charities, Steve and his mother eventually settled in Birchwood, Wi where Steve attended grade school and high school. After graduating from high school, he attended Rice Lake Teacher’s College. While attending college, Steve met Marilyn Olsen. They were married on January 19, 1963, and shared a special bond for 48 years.
After college, Steve started his teaching career in Glenwood City and then moved to the Chetek school district where he taught for 35 years.
Funeral services for Steve were held on Saturday, June 11, at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek.

en grandchildren: Christine, Ashley, Adam, Corey, Aaron, Bryan, Maddie, Connie, Jon and Aidan. Five great-grandchildren and
sisters, Zora, Mica, Dobrila. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Margaret and his three brothers.
