Verna (Reemtsma) Schmidt

Verna La Vera Reemtsma Schmidt, 90, of Chetek, WI (formerly of Hastings, MN and Westbrook, MN) passed away peacefully at Meadowbrook Senior Care in Chetek.

Verna was born on January 25, 1930, in Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Herman and Hannah Reemtsma.  Verna was married to John Schmidt on May 17, 1949, in Westbrook, MN.  They were blessed with four children, Joan (Jack) Moes, Doug (Carolyn), Dale (Debbie), and Bruce (Tammy), 8 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Verna was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Chetek, WI.

Verna is preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, her sister, Alma, and brothers, Harold and Mike.

There will be a family gathering at her graveside and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
