Viva Jeanette Chaboski, 89 of Chetek, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Viva was born on July 9, 1922 in Baraboo, Wisconsin the daughter of Clayton and Leah (Payne) Pickett. Viva attended school in Chetek and granduated from the Chetek High School.
She was married to John David Rathburn Sr. on April 1, 1940 in Rusk County. The couple farmed in the Chetek area after their marriage and then moved to Dallas, Wisconsin in 1954 where they owned and operated the Dallas Locker Plant until John passed away.
Viva later married Frank J. Chaboski in 1973. They lived in Chicago, and then moved to Indiana and later settling back in Chetek where she resided until the time she passed away. She enjoyed cribbage, polka dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

A “Time of Remembrance Service” will be held on Friday, August 26, at 11:00 A.M. at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek. The family will greet visitors at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 – 7 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at St. Boniface Cemetery following the service.
