William Dale Anderson

William Dale Anderson, 88, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Chetek, WI.  Bill was born September 13, 1925 in Escanaba, Michigan, the son of Edith (Ringstrand) and Ole Anderson.

William graduated from Escanaba High School, joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served in WWII.  After an honorable discharge, he went on to further his education at the University of Michigan, Western Michigan University and Northwestern University.  Bill married Joyce Elaine Dupont on September 7, 1951 in Escanaba, Michigan.  Bill was a talented saxophone player and the Vice President of Finance for Chicago & North Western Railroad at the time of his retirement December 1987.

He is survived by his children, William (Gail) Anderson, Jr.; Joel (Mary) Anderson; Susan (Randy) Erickson, 7 grandchildren, Ryan Filip, William Anderson, III, Brian Anderson, Amy Joy Anderson, Erika Anderson, Justin Erickson and Tyler Erickson, 3 great-grandchildren, Natalie Joyce Cole, Addison Filip and Nickolas Anderson.  Also survived by one sister, Elaine VanEffen and other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
