William A. Olson

William A. Olson “Bill” 62 of Chetek, WI; passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, WI on Friday, March 18, 2016 with his son Trevor at his bedside.

Bill was born on October 14, 1953 to Beulah and Westley Olson in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.  He graduated from Chetek High School and furthered his education attending WITI-Rice Lake and earning a degree in Mechanical Design.  He worked for Blanca Airplane Company and then returned to work with his father on the family farm.  Bill took over the farm after the sudden unexpected passing of his father.  He then purchased the farm from his mother.

Bill originally had a dairy and crop farm, and then switched to crop farming.  He planted multiple acres of hay, corn and soybeans.  He previously planted peas and beans for a local canning company.  He was a hard worker and spent many hours on the tractor.  He loved farming, fishing, and attending baseball and football games with his son, Trevor, he was a very quiet and private person and will be dearly missed.

He married Kathleen Khalar on October 15, 1983 and together they had 3 children, Miranda and twins, Tamara and Trevor.  They later divorced.

Bill leaves to celebrate his memory: children, Miranda, Tamara and Trevor Olson all of Chetek, his mother, Beulah L. Olson, Dallas, WI; mother of their children, Kathleen Olson, Chetek, sisters, Mary (Garver) Brown, Chetek, Carol (Ed) Hougdahl, Turtle Lake, brothers, Steve (Denise) Olson, Chetek, Tom (Debra) Olson, Marathon, WI and also nieces, nephews and other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley E. Olson in 1978.

Bill’s family will celebrate his life on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek.  The family will greet visitors at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.

He will be laid to rest at a later date.
