It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Zachary Thomas Kahl, age 28, of Chetek, on August 2, 2024. Born on May 3, 1996, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Zach was the beloved son of Thomas and Terry Kahl.
Zach was a vibrant soul known for his love of motorcycles, his enjoyment of working in the garage, and his talent for cooking. Whether he was riding through the countryside, tinkering with projects, or whipping up a delicious meal, Zach’s passions were evident in everything he did. He also had a knack for video games, often spending hours immersed.
A kind and generous individual, Zachary had a heart of gold. He was a devoted friend who was always there to lend a helping hand. His love for children was particularly notable; he had a special way of connecting with them and bringing joy into their lives.
Zachary’s infectious spirit and warm personality touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind many cherished friends and a legacy of kindness and generosity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Carl Paulson, uncle, Greg Kahl, brother, Ryan Paul Grosskreutz, and cousin, Aaron Schoonover.
Zach is survived by his parents, Thomas and Terry Kahl, siblings, Chase Kahl, Chris Grosskreutz, Sean Grosskreutz, and Danielle Schalley, grandparents, Gloria and Richard Kahl, and Ethel Paulson, as well as many cherished friends, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and other loving family.
A memorial service to celebrate Zachary's life will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Red Cedar Church in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service. The family invites those attending to a luncheon and time of remembrance following the service.
Zachary Thomas Kahl’s light shone brightly, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
